On October 21, the signing and inauguration ceremony of the Zhejiang University School of Pharmacy—Proya Cosmetics Joint Laboratory for Skin Health and Aging Research was held at Zijingang Campus, Zhejiang University. Hou Yameng, General Manager of Proya Cosmetics, and Gu Zhen, Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Zhejiang University, attended the ceremony along with other representatives from both sides to witness this significant moment.

The joint laboratory will focus on several cutting-edge research areas, including the differential impact of aging on specific skin regions, the mechanisms of skin aging, and the regulation of mitochondrial function. It will conduct joint research on new technologies, methodologies, and mechanisms, while screening and developing new functional ingredients. At the same time, the laboratory will cultivate high-caliber, interdisciplinary talent to systematically strengthen both parties’ competitiveness in scientific skincare, providing solid technological and human resource support for the high-quality development of China’s cosmetics industry.
Previously, the two parties had carried out a series of collaborative studies on ingredient mechanisms and formulation validation, focusing on two key areas — skin anti-aging and skin barrier repair. Among these efforts, the two parties conducted research on the anti-aging effects and underlying mechanisms of the Cellergy pro™ complex, focusing on its role in regulating mitochondrial function and other related pathways. The related findings received the Top 10 of Basic Research Award at the 35th IFSCC Congress.
